Practical, day-to-day training focused on real clerk operations, workflow, and problem-solving.

- DPS updates (traffic, DUI, CIC reporting)
- Court process and procedural guidance
- Mississippi law updates
- Peer collaboration and best practices
- New Clerk Orientation (clerks with limited experience)
Funding & Travel
Funded by each municipality. Typical planning includes:
- Registration fees
- Travel (mileage or transportation)
- Hotel accommodations
- Per diem (per local/state policy)
Clerks typically travel the day before and return the day after.
MJC Annual Clerks Conference
Hosted by: Mississippi Judicial College (MJC)
When: Annually in September
Purpose
Official training for certification and continuing education for municipal court clerks.
Key Features
- Required for certification and training hours
- Structured curriculum through the Judicial College
- Legal and statutory updates
- Formal training standards
Funding
Mostly covered by the Mississippi Judicial College. (see 2026 update at bottom of this post)

This was copied directly from the email I received from MJC that included the registration link and lodging information. If you DID NOT receive the email, please reach out to the MS Judicial College or you may email me and I’ll connect you with the program manager.
This change means that you’ll need to budget for (1) night hotel stay for this training. Make note of this for budget prep next year.
